Cross Country Ski Headquarters – Bob Frye Inducted to Michigan Ski Hall of Fame!

Bob FryeWe are honored to announce that Bob Frye, after 42 years in the cross country skiing industry, has been inducted to the Michigan Ski Hall of Fame!

The induction took place on Monday, August 22nd, at the Michigan Snowsports Industries Association annual meeting and dinner. Bob, founder of Cross Country Ski Headquarters, was honored for his “major contributions in areas of organization, promotion, or development of the skiing industry in Michigan.”

During his acceptance speech, Bob thanked all the people who have believed in the mission of Cross Country Ski Headquarters: help people have fun on the snow. He made a special thanks to his wife, Lynne, who joined him early on in the business, and without whom XC Ski HQ would not be what it is today. The ceremony was attended by many members of the Michigan and Midwest ski industry, as well as Lynne, his children, and other family members. If you’d like to read Bob’s story that was featured in the ceremony program, click here:

Bob Frye Hall of Fame program

Let’s Celebrate!

Come say hello to Bob and the crew at the Labor Day Weekend Sale, Friday, September 2nd through Monday, September 5th! Sale hours are Friday and Saturday 9:00am to 6:00pm, Sunday 10:00am to 5:00pm, and Monday 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Also, stay tuned for a special reception to be planned for later in the season, so that we can celebrate when there’s snow on the ground.

Thanks to everyone for your support, and here’s to a great upcoming ski season!
