Hartwick Pines State Park shared Michigan Department of Natural Resources's post.
Saturday June 30th, 2018 - 2:09 am
Plan to use fireworks between now and the Fourth of July? Be careful playing with fire. Careless use of fireworks was to blame for a dune grass fire in Holland’s Tunnel Park last month. And in Oregon, a 15-year-old must pay restitution for 10 years after he started a 48,000-acre fire by tossing two fireworks into a canyon.
If you use fireworks:
🎇 Keep a hose nearby to quench embers from spent fireworks.
🎇 Toss hand-held fireworks like sparklers into a bucket of water when you’re finished using them.
🎇 Don't launch fireworks such as bottle rockets into woods or fields. Dry grass or leaves could start a blaze.
🎇 Spray the entire area where you’ve been using fireworks with water when finished. Supervise kids and keep fireworks away from your face and eyes.
Remember to stay safe and have a weekend! ... See MoreSee Less
